This ballast works directly with D1S/D1R type xenon bulb.
To use with D2S/D2R type xenon bulb, you may need to purchase a Valeo D2 igniter separately.

Valeo ballast is very sensitive.  Using with low quality/non-factory xenon bulb  would shorten the lifespan of the ballast.
After many defective cases were found as a result of using with aftermarket xenon bulbs, Valeo ballast is no longer covered under 1 year warranty.
